Young Irelands 1-11
St Lachtains 1-13

Young Irelands came away with a great win over St Lachtains on Friday night in Muckalee, in one of our finest performances in recent times. From one to fifteen Gowran worked tirelessly all over the field. It was a pleasure to watch the red and white players winning the lion’s share of the 50/50 balls. The six backs and midfield excelled throughout while the entire line-up of forwards scored. The margin would have been greater but for a late Freshford goal.

Team: Martin Carey, Naill Walsh, Michael Walsh, Ciarán Carroll, Jonny Dunphy, Stephen Byrne (C), Emmett Byrne, JJ Lennon, Michael Lennon, Paul Holden (0-2,0-1 from a penalty), Dick Carroll (0-2), Seán Keogh (0-2), John Morris (0-2), Tom Drennan (1-2), Paul Keogh (0-3, 0-2 from frees)

Subs:  Chris Nolan, J P Treacy
